Welcome to Carolina Pediatric Dysphagia
Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing Disorders
Carolina Pediatric Dysphagia is the leading evaluation and treatment center for pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in the Carolinas.

ABOUT CAROLINA PEDIATRIC DYSPHAGIA

At CPD, we evaluate and provide therapy for children of all ages, from preterm infants in the NICU to teenagers for feeding and swallowing disorders, as well as, speech therapy. We work with patients and parents to develop the oral sensori-motor skills necessary for improved feeding and swallowing.

We are not only a treatment facility, but a teaching facility for parents, therapists-in-training, doctors, and other pediatric therapy facilities needing to learn more about dysphagia.

A TEAM APPROACH

Our multidisciplinary feeding team is comprised of medical professionals who work together to solve and properly manage the issues interfering with, and contributing to, your child's feeding problems. A typical feeding team may include all or some of the following medical disciplines: pediatrician, gastroenterologist (GI), allergist, neurologist, otolaryngologist / ear, nose and throat specialist (ENT), nutritionist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, nursing professional, lactation consultant, and school personnel.

Through our website and in person, we provide education and consultation to feeding teams in the U.S. and internationally.

Testimonial
"Joan and her staff really took the time to get to know my child and my family's needs to determine a realistic course of treatment that yielded results. She thinks creatively and compassionately and makes her office a warm, inviting place to visit. Joan took a very frustrating problem and turned it into a challenge we could overcome."
